Things I love about Del Cerro and San Carlos!

There are so many things I love about Del Cerro and San Carlos. The real estate here is so diverse with Contemporary, Traditional, Spanish/Mediterranean, and Mid-Century Modern style homes.   There are also condominiums, townhomes, and truly one-of-a-kind custom homes. Depending on the orientation, some properties may have Lake Murray views, golf course views, or ocean views that can be seen all the way to La Jolla.

Aside from the beautiful real estate, we are also surrounded by nature with Cowles Mountain and all the hiking that Mission Trails has to offer, Lake Murray Regional Park with its 4-mile paved path and the ability to fish out in the lake. Mission Trails Golf Course and Admiral Baker Golf Course are great for both beginners and seasoned golfers.  Lake Murray and Del Cerro Tennis Club have well-maintained lighted courts for all levels with Pickle Ball being added to their list of activities.

For the kids, there is an abundance of parks to choose from. We have top-rated schools with multiple elementary schools, middle schools, and our outstanding high school at Patrick Henry. There are an abundance of youth sports ranging from soccer programs like the Crusaders and Soccer Shots, baseball at San Carlos Little League, Navajo softball, tennis at Lake Murray Tennis Club, and basketball with i-9 at San Carlos Recreation Center or Allied Gardens Recreation Center basketball.

Here is my favorite list for Del Cerro and San Carlos

Favorite RestaurantKnB Bistro (https://knbbistro.com/).  This is a popular spot for us locals.  They offer an incredible selection of beer, wine, and spirits. Their food is great and my favorite menu items are the fish tacos or gourmet burgers. Service is always great and you can either sit at the bar, inside dining area, or comfortable patio area with heat lamps and tv’s to enjoy a game.

Favorite Grocery StoreWindmill Farms (https://windmillfarmsmarket.com/).  They are a staple of the community with a nice selection of produce, meats and seafood, prepared foods, deli, sushi, grocery staples, and health products.

Favorite Youth SportsCrusaders Soccer and San Carlos Little League (https://crusaderssoccer.org/) (https://www.sancarloslittleleague.com/).  It is hard to choose just one.  Both of these programs co-exist and are a huge part of the community.  Most of the neighborhood families can be found on the Crusaders soccer fields and/or San Carlos Little league baseball fields each weekend.

Favorite Quick Bite to eatCheers Deli (https://goldencheers.com/cheers.php).  This place is truly a hidden gem.  It is located inside the liquor store near Keils grocery store.  They are a New York style deli with a vast selection of sandwiches that are huge and sure to fill hungry bellies!

Favorite Coffee/teaSimple Coffee House (https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-simple-coffee-house-san-diego-2) – Nice, family-owned café, with a great selection of traditional coffees, teas, lattes, and craft coffees. They also have an assortment of food and pastries.  We like to take our coffees to the patio and enjoy the sunny weather.

Favorite Juice/SmoothiePure Press (https://www.yelp.com/biz/pure-press-juice-bar-san-diego).  Hands down this place is fresh and amazing after a hike or run.  It is located on the corner of Navajo and Golfcrest directly across from Cowles Mountain. Their acai bowls are huge and so good!
